Martha Stewart Reveals Her Favorite Country to Visit, But Why She Probably "Won't" Go Back (Exclusive)

Resy Martha Stewart loves traveling to this one country, especially because of the food Even though she loves visiting, there's one reason she probably won't go back She also reveals where she feels happiest Martha Stewart is certainly a well-traveled woman, but she says there's one country she loves visiting above all others: Japan. "Japan, by far," Stewart told PEOPLE at a recent event celebrating the launch ofResy's Dream Team Dinners, which pairs visionary chefs with their dream collaborators. (The dinner series, which will pop up in cities like Los Angeles, D.C., Miami, Atlanta, and Chicago throughout May, kicked off with a collaboration between chef Yara Herrera of the NYC hotspot Hellbender and Stewart, who worked on a menu together with Stewart supplying ingredients from her own garden.) Resy "I could probably eat a fish tartare every day," Stewart continued of her love of raw fish, noting it's the one dish she could never get sick of. "I would probably change the fish from day to day, like between fluke and flounder and tuna and hake. Anything ultra fresh. That would be very good." Getty However, the 83-year-old mogul says there's one reason she likely won't ever return to the country, and it's only because there are too many new places to see. "I don't travel back to places anymore," Stewart continues. "There are still so many places I must see that I don't like revisiting places. Although I do have a trip to Sydney coming up, and I've been there before, but after my speaking engagement we're going to do some sightseeing, see some really good stuff, and make it an adventure." Although the tireless Stewart, who is also currently a judge on the cooking showYes, Chef!,seems to always be on the go, she says she's actually happiest when she's at home, either at her house in Bedford, New York, or at her summer residence in Maine. "I love being at the summer house and doing day trips from there, exploring the area," she says, adding that she loves being in her garden. "I'm always challenging myself," she says. "Right now I am growing kiku mums, the giant Japanese mums. I've just gotten my cuttings and they're rooted. And this is a very big, long process, and you have to really study it before you can be a master. So I'm working on that." She adds, "I'm happiest around my own surroundings with my animals, with my family. I love my grandchildren." Read the original article onPeople
